The Town 3's thrashed 9 man Aston Unity by 197 runs in a great all round performance. With the bat, the side romped to 235-5 as colts, Pat Howard hit 49 and Rob Gardner 48. In form, Chris Wallsgrove hit a great unbeaten 56 as he teamed up with Pranay Turlapati who blasted 42. In reply, although they survived one ball short of 28 overs, Aston Unity were skittled out for only 38 with no player reaching double figures. Wily old stager, Peter Alty, took a frugal 4-11 off 8.5 overs as his seam deliveries were virtually unplayable, whilst Ed Smith chipped in with 2-5 from 6 overs, colt Tom Pope 1-5 off 5 and Roger Kelsey 1-3 off his 3 overs. |
