The Town 1's enjoyed a winning draw at home to Bedworth as they were invited to bat first but were soon in trouble at 86-5. However, 2 sizeable partnerships developed with Mitch Lowe and Gregg Peebles putting on 67 together before Lowe fell for 36 off 46 balls. This brought Joe Haynes to the crease as he made he best score of the season so far with an unbeaten 32 off 38 balls, Peebles fell after posting 42 to the off spin of Zimbabwean, Thomas Dangerimbizi, who took 3-38 as the Town 1's made the final score of 216-8. The other Bedworth wickets takers were Ryan Oldham 2-17, captain Scott Friswell 1-73 and Nigel Camwell 1-25. In reply, Bedworth look well on course for victory at 171-4 with 6 wickets remaining after successive 50 partnerships for the 3rd and 4th wicket of 56 and 66 but Friswell failed to find a partner to stay with him as 5 wickets fell in the final 2 overs including 2 in 2 deliveries courtesy of a calamitous run out thanks to Charlie Leonard and a fine stumping from Watts off Mitch Lowe. Friswell finally fell for 82 off 115 balls with 7 x 4s and 1 x 6s and deservedly took the man of the match award as Bedworth close on 202-8. Geoff Edmunds led the attack with 3-58. Leonard took 2-62, whilst Haynes and Lowe a wicket each in a tense finish to keep their hopes of Birmingham League cricket next season very much alive. Kenilworth 17 pts Bedworth 11 pts.
