The Town 1's continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 24 point victory at home to 10 man Pickwick Post and Mail to move into second place, 4 points behind leaders Nuneaton at the start of the May Bank Holiday programme. Kenilworth were asked to bat but were soon in trouble at 20-3 and 56-6 as the top order struggled against opening bowler, Hassan, who finished with figures of 5-49. However, a superb 90 run partnership for the 7th wicket between Mike Watts who finished with 47 from 76 balls and Mark Deeley who was unbeaten on 46 from 90 balls. It was then left to debutant, Jack Edwards, to make a useful 19 to take the side's final total to a respectable 186-9. Imran Mohammed 2-46 and Javed Tariq 2-36 were the other Pickwick wicket takers, whilst wicket keeper, Aftab Ali, had a excellent performance behind the stumps with 5 catches and 0 byes. In reply, Pickwick found life equally difficult when batting and were reduced to 35-3 with all 3 wickets falling to seamer, Charlie Leonard, who eventually ended with 3-37. The rest of the batting struggled against wily left arm spinner, Geoff Edmunds, who took 5-19 and claim his 2nd man of the match in 3 weeks and with it take his league wickets tally to 13 for the season after only 4 matches. Paceman, Mitch Lowe, took the final wicket as he trapped S Iqbal LBW to leave Pickwick 92-9 (all out) Only Javed Iqbal, with 29, managed to make a significant contribution.
