Pranay Turlapati claimed the Club's first hat trick of the season in the midweek 20 over match against Bournville on Thursday evening which saw the club achieve a 36 run win.
His wickets came courtesy of a sliding catch at mid on from colt Rob Gardner, a catch at deep square leg from colt Tom Pope and then Pranay hit the stumps to achieve his hat trick, in his first season at the Club.
Sean Burke claimed his first wickets in Club colours taking a fine 3-19 after Zimbo, Matt Hone, had earlier smashed his way to an unbeaten 73 off only 30 balls, clubbing 5 sixes and 5 fours in his quick fire and hard hitting innings, as the side posted 133-4. In reply, Bournville managed to post 97-8 when their innings closed.
Congratulations to all three Town players and in particular to Pranay.

Man of the match, Charlie Leonard, steered the Town 1's to a comfortable 87 run victory at Nuneaton that has leap frogged the Club into second place in the Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division, as he starred with the bat and the ball.
Leonard firstly made a superb 95 off 133 balls that included 9 x 4's as he put on 131 runs for the third wicket with Dave Edmunds who hit 58 off 81 balls, after the side had slumped to 6-2. Once Edmunds departed, Leonard went on to team up with with James Nason 30 to add another 57 run partnership and help the side to 228-5. However, the Nuneaton bowlers made a strong come back as the Town's innings fell away to 240 all out in 48.5 overs with Lee McNeill and Adam Walters leading the Nuneaton attack taking 4-41 and 4-38 respectively along with Tony Ingram, making his first appearance of the season, taking 2-65.
In reply, Nuneaton made a rapid a start and were 67-2 after 12.1 overs as opener John Allen made 22 but Leonard wiped out any chance of a run chase when he took a fine 4-33. Adam Walters and Fraser Plowman made 29 each but the side could not cling on for a draw after Mitch Lowe had taken 3-31 and Gregg Peebles 1-32, whilst keeper, Mark Deeley snapped up 4 catches behind the stumps. It was left to spinner Geoff Edmunds 2-12 to wrap up the fine Town win as he trapped Dean LBW with just more than 3 overs to go which gave Kenilworth a maximum 24 points and Nuneaton 6. Kenilworth are now in 2nd place in a very tight WACL Premier Division 6 points behind leaders Solihull Blossomfield and the dream of Birmingham League cricket lives on, although only 25 points separate the top 9 sides after 10 matches played.

The Town 1's enjoyed a winning draw at home to Bedworth as they were invited to bat first but were soon in trouble at 86-5. However, 2 sizeable partnerships developed with Mitch Lowe and Gregg Peebles putting on 67 together before Lowe fell for 36 off 46 balls. This brought Joe Haynes to the crease as he made he best score of the season so far with an unbeaten 32 off 38 balls, Peebles fell after posting 42 to the off spin of Zimbabwean, Thomas Dangerimbizi, who took 3-38 as the Town 1's made the final score of 216-8. The other Bedworth wickets takers were Ryan Oldham 2-17, captain Scott Friswell 1-73 and Nigel Camwell 1-25. In reply, Bedworth look well on course for victory at 171-4 with 6 wickets remaining after successive 50 partnerships for the 3rd and 4th wicket of 56 and 66 but Friswell failed to find a partner to stay with him as 5 wickets fell in the final 2 overs including 2 in 2 deliveries courtesy of a calamitous run out thanks to Charlie Leonard and a fine stumping from Watts off Mitch Lowe. Friswell finally fell for 82 off 115 balls with 7 x 4s and 1 x 6s and deservedly took the man of the match award as Bedworth close on 202-8. Geoff Edmunds led the attack with 3-58. Leonard took 2-62, whilst Haynes and Lowe a wicket each in a tense finish to keep their hopes of Birmingham League cricket next season very much alive. Kenilworth 17 pts Bedworth 11 pts.

The Towns 1's suffered their 2nd defeat of the season as they went down by 4 wickets at Bablake. Batting first, Kenilworth looked well placed at 127-3 but with the final 7 wickets yielding only 51 runs the final total was 173 all out from 49 overs. Gregg Peebles top scored with 38 followed by Mark Wisdish 34. The only other batsmen to pass 20, were Charlie Leonard 27 and Dave Edmunds 22 as the middle to lower order collapsed against some fine Bablake bowling. Former Kenilworth Wardens player, Richard Bush, led the attack with 4-30 to which Steve Swaffield 3-40 and Tom Cowley 3-36 were the other wicket takers. In reply, Bablake slumped to 47-2 and 106-6 but a fine 70 run partnership between Guy Eames who finished unbeaten 40 off 46 balls with 4 x 6 and skipper Richard Swaffield 29 off 33 2 x 6 took Bablake to victory with 7 overs remaining as they reached their target of 174. Peebles took 2-45, Geoff Edmunds 2-25, Mitch Lowe 1-45 and Leonard 1-53. With some surprising results else where Kenilworth now lie in 6th plcae in the WACL Premier Division but only 15 points separate 2nd to 10th.

A disappointing batting display condemned Kenilworth to their 1st defeat of the season at Solihull Blossomfield. Kenilworth batted first on a fine surface but were soon in trouble at 38-4 and 53-5 before Gregg Peebles and Charlie Leonard set about rebuilding the innings with a 32 run partnership before Peebles fell for 19. Leonard fell soon after for top score of 24 thanks to a fine catch in the gully from Mohammed Altaf. A 9th wicket stand between Mike Watts who was unbeaten 21 and a rapid 19 from 24 balls from Matt Rees took Kenilworth to 147 all out with 9.4 overs unused. For Solihull Blossomfield, Ali Ebad led the attack with 5-18. In reply, Blossomfield found batting equally tricky as they were reduced to 22-3, leaving the game in the balance until a 67 run partnership between Sheraz Khan 29 and man of match, Rob Edmond, who was unbeaten on 43 off 98 balls with 4 boundaries. He fittingly hit the winning runs with more than 23 overs to spare as Blossomfield cruised home by 6 wickets, ending on 148-6. Mitch Lowe 2-34 , Geoff Edmunds 2-21, Charlie Leonard 1-41 and Gregg Peebles 1-35 took the wickets for the Town. Blossomfield 24 points Kenilworth 3 points leaves the Town in 3rd place 1 point behind Atherstone who are 27 points behind table toppers, Nuneaton.

The Town 1's and local rivals, Warwick, settled for a draw in their Bank Holiday Monday fixture as only 9 wickets fell during the day for 474 runs scored between the sides. Kenilworth batted first, after winning the toss and made an impressive 267-5 after good start from openers James Nason and Mark Wisdish who put on 70 for the opening wicket. Nason fell for 42 off 53 deliveries and Wisdish soon followed for 23. Then three promising partnerships formed of 47, 38 and 33 then followed, thanks to contributions from Joe Haynes with 28, a fine 55 from in form Dave Edmunds but the side's final total was achieved courtesy to some hard hitting from Mitch Lowe who scored 86 from 54 deliveries with 6 x 4's and 7 x 6's including 22 off one over from former Kenilworth player James Wynn Evans. Lowe put on 70 run partnership for the 6th wicket off 49 balls with Adie Sellar who contributed 5. For Warwick, Lee Skrypchuk took 2-45, James Wynn Evans 2-87 and Paul Coleman 1-35. The Town 1's continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 24 point victory at home to 10 man Pickwick Post and Mail to move into second place, 4 points behind leaders Nuneaton at the start of the May Bank Holiday programme. Kenilworth were asked to bat but were soon in trouble at 20-3 and 56-6 as the top order struggled against opening bowler, Hassan, who finished with figures of 5-49. However, a superb 90 run partnership for the 7th wicket between Mike Watts who finished with 47 from 76 balls and Mark Deeley who was unbeaten on 46 from 90 balls. It was then left to debutant, Jack Edwards, to make a useful 19 to take the side's final total to a respectable 186-9. Imran Mohammed 2-46 and Javed Tariq 2-36 were the other Pickwick wicket takers, whilst wicket keeper, Aftab Ali, had a excellent performance behind the stumps with 5 catches and 0 byes. In reply, Pickwick found life equally difficult when batting and were reduced to 35-3 with all 3 wickets falling to seamer, Charlie Leonard, who eventually ended with 3-37. The rest of the batting struggled against wily left arm spinner, Geoff Edmunds, who took 5-19 and claim his 2nd man of the match in 3 weeks and with it take his league wickets tally to 13 for the season after only 4 matches. Paceman, Mitch Lowe, took the final wicket as he trapped S Iqbal LBW to leave Pickwick 92-9 (all out) Only Javed Iqbal, with 29, managed to make a significant contribution. Kenilworth 24 points Pickwick Post and Mail 4.

A sudden ending meant Kenilworth were denied the chance of victory, when well placed and batting well in their run chase but had to settle with 6 pts against Kings Heath, as the match was abandoned. The game got under way 3 hours late with the minimum of 25 overs a side contest after persistent rain through the afternoon. Town skipper, Geoff Edmunds, asked King's Heath to bat and they made 136-5 in their allotted overs. Only former Harborne player, Jim Moreton, with 46 in 63 balls and opener Phil Jefferies 23 made significant contributions. Gregg Peebles 2-44, Mitch Lowe 1-21 and Charlie Leonard 1-30 took the wickets for the Town. In reply, Kenilworth were going well at 67-2 off 13.2 before a short rain delay took the players off. On the resumption with both captains keen to achieve a result, Dave Edmunds drove the ball towards the boundary only for a King's Heath player to twist his ankle and after a conference between both umpires, the match was frustratingly abandoned. Opener James Nason made 25 with Joe Haynes and Dave Edmunds unbeaten on 18 and 11, respectively.

The Town 1s climbed to 2nd place in the WACL premier division with a 24 point haul at home to Fillongley. Kenilworth batted first but were soon in trouble 42-3 and then 83-4 thanks to 25 from Joe Haynes but his dismissal brought together Lee Melville and Mitch Lowe who both set about rebuilding the innings as they put on 125 run partnership together off 104 deliveries before they both fell in the same over - Melville for a patient 57 off 107 balls and Lowe a usual brutal knock of 74 in only 49 deliveries with 7 x 4s and 4 x 6s. The remainder of the innings slipped away from 208-5 with some poor running between and wickets and shot selection to a final total of 217 all out achieved with 2 deliveries left. For Fillongley, Steve Gardner jnr lead the attack with 4-41 and there was a wicket each for Tregonning, Slade and Nightingale. In reply, Kenilworth made the best possible start as paceman Lowe removed Tom Barber with the 2nd delivery of the innings. Dan Smith was next to go for 19, yet with his dismissal, Tom Nightingale and Aaron Blackmore set about rebuilding the innings as they put on 72. When Nightingale fell for 54, Andy Carty took at the challenge and made a quickfire 35 in 32 deliveries. His dismissal at 167-5 led to a collapse to leave Fillongley 182 all out with only two balls of the match remaining, losing their last 3 wickets for only 3 runs, taking 7 points and handing victory to Kenilworth by 35 runs and the 24 points. For the Town, left arm spinner Geoff Edmunds took 5-51 and with it the man of the match award, as well as snapping up the last two wickets, Mitch Lowe 1-32 Gregg Peebles 1-35, Charlie Leonard 1-33 and Dave Edmunds 1-22.

RUN-HUNGRY Kenilworth opened their Warwickshire League Premier Division campaign by getting much the better of a draw at neighbours Southam on Saturday.
Kenilworth won toss and had no hesitation in making first use of a fine track with short boundaries.
Mitch Lowe topped scored with a brutal 79 off 47 balls, which included eight 6s, while there were also useful contributions from Dave Edmunds 59 off 50 balls and opener Mark Wisdish 48.
The innings finished with a flourish as Matt Rees 22 put on 71 off only 41 balls with Lowe for the eighth wicket which lifted the total to a healthy 280 for 8 from their 50 overs.
Dave Hawkes was the most successful bowler by returning 3-73 with support coming from Rob Edom 2-23, skipper Daniel Vernon 2-68 and Michael Clements 1-25 but Southam’s cause was not helped by the late arrival of one of their players meaning they spent 25 overs fielding with only ten men.
In reply Southam limped to 13 for 2 in eight overs thanks to Gregg Peebles who removed Matt Goatley and Chris Bramley who made a big hundred in last years fixture.
A 67 run partnership between Hawkes and Luke Nelly gave Southam a glimmer of hope but when the latter departed it was left to Hawkes, who made a stubborn 70 off 109 balls, to hold the innings together.
The efforts of Hawkes ensured Southam staved off the threat of defeat and they closed on 175 for 8.
Gregg Peebles led the visitors attack with 3-28, while Mitch Lowe claimed 2-35 and there was one wicket apiece for skipper Geoff Edmunds, Dave Edmunds and debutant Joe Haynes.
